Level 3 HACCP Food Manufacturing

This Level 3 award addresses the training requirements of staff in the food and drink manufacturing sector such as HACCP team members and supervisors. Employers and enforcement officers will be reassured that holders of this award will have the knowledge and understanding to contribute to the management of the HACCP system.

Course content

The importance of food safety management procedures based on HACCP Principles.

The preliminary processes for developing a HACCP plan.

The development of food safety management procedures based on HACCP principles.

The procedures for ensuring food safety.

The evaluation of food safety management procedures based on HACCP principles.  

Assessment and Grading 

There is a single examination paper for this award comprising of 40 multiple choice questions. The duration of the examination is 2 hours. Candidates must gain a minimum of 26 marks out of 40 (65%) to pass the examination and 35 marks out of 40 (88%) to attain a credit.

 

Progression on completion

Successful candidates, who may aspire to leading the HACCP team, managing or auditing the HACCP system, or advising owners and managers of food businesses regarding HACCP, will need to advance their knowledge of HACCP. Qualifications such as the RIPH Level 4 Award in HACCP Management for Food Manufacturing would be appropriate for this purpose.
